i am actually so sad after finishing boys of tommen and i need the next book STAT. i have 100% fallen into a reading slump as this series is all i can think about unfortunately

im doing my english podcasting learning task on the hatred between gibsie and lizzie and their shared trauma and jesus christ ive never been so excited about a podcast. i just have so so much to say on the topic and im so fucking geek about it (yes i checked the venn diagram while writing this)

spoilers about the book ahead....

first of all i got permission from my english teacher to discuss themes of child sexual abuse and suicide which kind of shocked me but period i guess thanks miss!

its just like so fucking serious to me because they went through the exact same thing with m*rk and lizzie had no idea and when caoimhe said gibsie will help and he didn't she was so understandably fucking confused and rightfully upset bc like why WOULDNT you want to get justice for my dead fucking sister hello what the fuck????

but reading this after reading gibsies pov about how he didn't want anyone to know about it or to think anything was wrong genuinely breaks my heart. AND how lizzie was so brainwashed by m*rk in thinking caoimhes death was gibsies fault that when she found out m*rk also raped gibsie she GENUINELY didn't believe it and still believed he was on m*rk's side and called him a liar and didn't realise just how similar their experiences were.

it also kills me how quick gibsies mum was to side with her boyfriend and stepson and call lizzie a liar and a menace when she accused m*rk of raping caoimhe but how quickly she believed and supported gibsie when she found out m*rk raped him. i understand he's her son and all but that's so fucked up like why would a CHILD make that up for no reason it was so bizarre. and above everything STILL NO ONE EVER FOUND OUT HE RAPED LIZZIE TOO. m*rk is genuinely a fucking monster im ill.

the most heartbreaking part is that both lizzie and gibsie were missing huge chunks of the story and misunderstanding the experience of the other because at the end of the day they were literally just kids. im gonna go cry now. i could talk about this forever

i also cant fucking Stand when people call lizzie a "mean girl" like HELLO CUNT she literally has early onset bipolar disorder since she was 5, witnessed her sister being raped countless times, was raped HERSELF by her sisters boyfriend, watched her sisters boyfriend kill her, was labeled as crazy by EVERYONE for trying to speak out about said boyfriend and was completely hated for it, (thought) she was betrayed by one of her closest childhood friends who refused to get justice for her sisters death, and had a mum dying from cancer and a dad who hated her and called her insane.

she went through all that and the worst she did was occasionally insult someone who she had reason to believe was responsible for her sister  DYING and occasionally lost her temper. she deserves a trophy because me personally i would be raising HELL at every second of everyday because absolutely EVERYONE in this poor girls life has done her dirty. except my king hughie biggs whom i have endless love for. lizzie young get behind me.

furthermore, in addition to being raped by m*rk, NO ONE talks about how liz was essentially raped by pierce because she THOUGHT it was hugh. pierce literally has no defence. she was black out drunk and REPEATEDLY saying 'hugh' throughout, hello?????? 

im so excited to record a podcast about the boys of tommen, i love both liz and gibsie, m*rk needs to be killed, ill defend lizzie young until i die.
